Yara Morais is a painter & illustrator specialized in portraits, with a touch of fantasy and surrealism.

Her art is mainly focused on the female subject, she has a delicate and poetic approach that translates the feminine soul. Yara is also inspired by her own emotions and a spiritual connection achieved through a meditative state. She is fascinated by mythology, archetypes, fairy tales, tarot, dreams, everything that has a deeper meaning and feeds the subconscious mind with inspiration.

Yara is very versatile, she works with various mediums: watercolor, gouache, and oils are some of her favorites.

For her formal training, she was exposed to the fundamentals of drawing and painting at Watts Atelier of the Arts.

Yara’s favorites things are books, cats, traveling, pasta, meditation, and the colors teal and pink.

She currently creates from San Diego, CA in a home studio accompanied by her orange tabby cat Vincent.
